Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness
Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness program helps income-qualified homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, allowing them to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. Almost every Saturday Habitat volunteers are out in the community working to repair the home of an elderly resident. You can expect anything from scraping, patching and painting a house to landscaping! The work day is usually two shifts, 8:30 am – 11:30am ; 12:00 – 4:00 pm. There is work for every skill level and all tools are provided. Our Team Leaders are more than willing to train you a task or tool! Volunteer on your own or with a group. If you have a group that would like to schedule a volunteer day during the week, please let us know. Habitat will work to make it a meaningful, memorable day for all involved! Children under the age of 16 are not allowed onto these construction sites and minors age 16-17 must have a volunteer application signed by their parent/guardian..
ReStore & CoConut Closet
"Repurpose" your downtime at the Habitat ReStore or the CoConut Closet. Both stores provide multiple volunteer opportunities. Our ReStore is a retail outlet which recycles donated new and used furnishings, appliances and home improvement items to support the home building efforts of Habitat. Volunteers at the ReStore may arrange items in our showroom, assist with customer check-outs well as provide excellent service to our great customers.

Community Outreach
As opportunities arise, help us spread the message about the important work of Habitat of Key West and Lower Florida Keys by reaching out to local schools, organizations and corporations. Use your expertise with the spoken or written word to raise awareness and funds for Habitat.
