If you love prowling the aisles at Home Depot, enjoy fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials while supporting adequate housing, the Habitat ReStore needs you! Sales, display, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are completely volunteer efforts.  Be part of HFHKW's premier recycler of new and used building materials, tools and appliances. Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops. While the Habitat Habitat ReStore sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects like its product selection, variability, etc.  Please see the job description below for some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in:

Job Title: ReStore Volunteer/ Associate

Objective:  To further the mission of Habitat by working in the Habitat for Humanity of Key West & Lower Florida Keys ReStore, and assisting in accepting and selling materials and equipment to be resold as a means for raising funds for the operation of Habitat.

Schedule:  The ReStore hours of operation are Tuesday –Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-4pm. Volunteers can work anytime during these hours, but must schedule with ReStore Manager when they would like to work.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, stock, and display donated materials
• Work with Sales and Pickup staff as needed
• Sales and Cashier
• Greet customers and answer phones
• Assist customers in locating materials
• Pickup - Assist Drivers
• Collect, load, transport, and unload donations
• Cleaning bathrooms, sweep floors, dust furniture
• Data entry
• Promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)

General Requirements:  Be dependable, flexible and willing to complete a variety of tasks.

Training and Support:  All Habitat ReStore volunteers will be trained and supervised by the ReStore Manager. They are required to fill out all the necessary volunteer forms.

Qualifications:  16 years of age or older
